It's so weird how quickly it gets dark outside during the winter. After 6 or 7pm, everyone is gone, the streets are bare, it's kind of scary. As a New Yorker, you tend to get a bit wary things get too quiet.
I don't usually like to take my camera out at night, but I wasn't too far from my house, so what the heck! What's your city/town/village/dwelling like at night?

It gets really quiet around where I live at night as well. Even though it's only 5/6 o clock, I still feel a bit paranoid being out in the dark alone aha!

Gorgeous photos! The atmosphere you capture is amazing. My neighbourhood is alright and the city is alright for most areas. It's just when you get to the areas with lots of pubs and clubs (namely Kings Cross which is popular every day, all year round because of tourists mainly).

I know this is a bit weird but I somehow still have this image in my head of NYC that's somewhat like this magical place on earth where nobody really lives - but they're alive that as it's like a city that never sleeps. Reading your blog makes me a bit more down to earth about it - as NYC too, is 'just a city'. But I can imagine it's weird to see empty streets there... :p
ReplyDeleteUsually when you get away from a lot of the tourist packed areas, you'll find lots of quiet streets. But sometimes in the summers on Sunday nights, Midtown (which is a tourist hub) is very very quiet, streets are bare, it's kind of amazing haha.
