The Maury Show

On Wednesday, my friend received 3 tickets to the Maury Show for yesterday (Thursday).  I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with this show, but let's just say that it's not very glamorous hahaha. If you're curious to see what it's all about, click here.

The show is filmed in Stamford, Connecticut, so we had to take a free Maury Show shuttle bus to the studio, which is about 30-40 minutes away from Harlem NYC. When we got there, we had to check-in, go through security clearance, and then get seated in the studio.

As Maury audience members, we had to do a lot of clapping, stomping, awwwing, booing, ohhhhing-- basically be super dramatic and expressive. We taped two shows back-to-back, so we saw 8 guests in total. By the time we finished filming, my friend and I had splitting headaches, empty stomachs, and sore throats because we got a bit too enthusiastic =P.

The episode we're on is supposed to air in 2 weeks, but I'm not too confident that my friend and I will appear on camera, as we were sitting right behind the camera operator. But that's no problem at all, because we had a great time!

*The only thing I regret is not getting a picture of Maury, but we had to put away our electronics while we were filming*

Have you ever been apart of a tv studio audience?

  1. So jealous! When I was studying in the US, Maury was probably what I watched almost daily. Ha.

I have been in tv studio audience for SYTYCD which was exhausting! The fake enthusiasm was really tiresome after a while.
But glad that you had fun! (I mean.. how can you not for that show :P )

  4. This sounds like it would've been so much fun! I've seen a few episodes here and there online, but I've never thought to go to a live show. Must've been pretty exciting!

  11. I've been in the audience for The Graham Norton Show a couple of years ago when Reese Witherspoon, Alex Kingston and Reginald D Hunter were on there (I'm not over being in the same room as two AWESOME women) and I also had Graham come up to me with these heat goggle things for a segment of the show, as it was when Reese was promoting This Is War, and I can't even remember what happened, but that part didn't air - which I was so relieved about.

I've also been in the audience for this thing called Celebrity Squares, but I only did it because it was on a uni trip whilst we were at the BBC and our lecturer had some tickets going! Haha.
